About Us

Formed in May 2010, the Ballinacurra Weston Residents Alliance (BWRA) is an independent residents' group in the designated regeneration area of Ballinacurra Weston (parts of).

The BWRA was established by former committee members of the collapsed residents' forum.

The residents' forum was established by the SRA in February 2008, but only after the Agency had already handpicked residents 'reps' for the Southside Regeneration Committee. These non-residents continue to sit on the Southside Regeneration Committee as residents' 'reps' for the area.

The BWRA is now representative of 95% of households in the immediate area

What we Do:

The BWRA is a properly constituted and active organisation that is run by the residents and for the residents.
  • We write letters  on behalf of our members, highlighting their individual problems to the relevant agency.
  • We highlight areas  of concern to our Community; environmental issues like illegal dumping, health & safety issues such as rat infestations and unsecured vacant houses, and security problems regarding anti-social and criminal behaviour.
  • We are a member  of the local Community & Voluntary Forum - Our Lady of Lourdes Umbrella Group.
  • We are affiliated to Limerick Regeneration Watch
